Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Jordan Betty was born February 25, 1930, to Victorine and Willard Gerner, in Swedesboro, NJ. Betty attended schools in Swedesboro and then graduated from Asbury University in Wilmore, KY with a B.A. degree. She returned to New Jersey where she taught school in three different school systems. When teaching school in Summit, NJ, she met Douglas Jordan. They married in April 1956. Doug's job took them to Andover, MA, where they raised their two children. When Doug retired in 1986, she and Doug moved to Kennebunk, ME. Betty volunteered in many ways. She was always active in her church, in the public schools, and for the Red Cross. She found her time spent as a Hospice volunteer most rewarding. She was a member of Christ Church in Kennebunk, ME. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter E, ME. Betty was most happy if she had a good book to read or was on her hands and knees "digging in the dirt" in one of her many flower gardens over the years. She is pre-deceased by Doug, her sister Janet Yeich and her sister-in-law Leatrice Jordan. She is survived by her children David Jordan and wife Nicole, Joanne LeBeau and husband Robert, grandchildren Christopher and Brian Jordan, and brother-in-law John Yeich.
