Westbrook- Mahlon Ray Pendexter, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Westbrook, on Friday, March 9, 2018. The son of Howard and Gloria (Durgin) Pendexter, he was born in Hiram Maine on February 5, 1945. He joined the United States Army when the Vietnam War broke out. After he was discharged from the military he met and married Juanita Parker and the two settled in Westbrook to raise their four children. He enjoyed gardening, and fishing, especially brook fishing for trout. He was a loyal fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. so much so that his interest for NasCar cooled after Earnhardt's death. He had a special fondness for animals. Mahlon always felt that he would like to celebrate at least 50 years of marriage to his wife Juanita. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday March 11, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife Juanita Pendexter of Westbrook, his children, David Pendexter of Westbrook, Michael Pendexter and his wife Tara of South Portland, Scott Pendexter of Westbrook, and Tammy Pendexter and her life partner Edward Boissonneau of Gorham. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amber Pendexter, Michael Pendexter Jr., Kaylee Pendexter, Mathew Pendexter, Chad Pendexter, Nikayla O'Donal, Taylor O'Donal and his great grandchild Cambria Parlin. A graveside service with military honors will take place in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mahlon's memory to the Animal Refuge League, PO Box 336, Westbrook ME 04098.
