Obituary

WESTBROOK— Madelyn June Landry, 94, died peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family on January 31, 2018. She was born June 17, 1923, a daughter of Everett and Everetta (Wilson) Parker. Madelyn was a 1942 graduate of Westbrook High School. A few short months later, she married Edgar Landry on September 21, 1942; together they raised their six children in Westbrook. Madelyn was employed at S.D. Warren for 27 years. Being a military family, Madelyn and Edgar enjoyed traveling to various bases to visit their children in places such as Germany, Alaska and Washington D.C. to name a few. She was involved in civic organizations such as the Daughters of Isabelle and the St. Mary's Women's Club. Madelyn was a crafty person who enjoyed doing arts and crafts and will be remembered for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Above all, Madelyn was a matriarch in the truest sense, and loved her family unconditionally. She is survived by her children, Raymond Landry and his significant other Larry, Carol Perham and her husband William, David Landry and his wife Joy, Jason Landry and his wife Catherine, Roger Landry and his wife Kathleen, and Mary Ann Celeste and her husband Anthony; sisters Sally Labrecque and her husband David, and Shirley Emery; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren (with one on the way). She was predeceased by her loving husband Edgar Landry in 2005, and a daughter in law, Trudy Landry. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME. A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, February 3 at the Chapel. Burial will take place in the spring.
