Lowell G. Salisbury, 73, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at his home in Westbrook. He was born in Portland, the son of Herbert and Winifred (Gray) Salisbury. Lowell served in the Navy for 6 years. He later worked as driver for Menlo Worldwide Air Freight for 37 years before retiring. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years. Lowell was an avid fisherman and hunter. He took great pleasure in helping his neighbors with their plowing and lawn care. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was affectionately known to them as "Bumpy" He was predeceased by his wife Carol and his brothers Freeman, Donald, and Clarence. He is survived by his sons Joseph and wife Sue and Mark and his partner Michelle, all of Westbrook; daughter Shari Salisbury and her wife Tammy Gross of Westbrook; and his grandchildren Tanya, Tiffany, Larissa, Teejay, Ellie, and Mackenzie. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, March 13, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 AM Monday, March 14, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
