Lorraine Virginia Thomas St.Onge, 83, of Gorham, ME and Manchester, MA, passed away Monday Oct., 20, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Lorraine was born in Cambridge, MA, the daughter of George and Teresa (Plunkett) Thomas. She grew up in Belmont, MA and Holderness, NH and graduated from Chandler School for Women in Boston in 1950 as a Legal Secretary. Lorraine married Joseph Arthur St. Onge III in 1952. They settled in Bedford, MA where they co-owned the Bedford Times Newspaper. In 1963 Lorraine and Arthur moved to Manchester-by-the-Sea. Lorraine was a member of the Manchester Women's Club, the League of Women Voters and involved in the Sacred Heart Church Guild. In 1996,they moved to Little Sebago Lake in Maine and she became involved in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Guild, in Windham. Lorraine was an avid quilter and a member of a number of Quilters group, a story teller and an avid writer and most recently a member of the North Gorham Writers Group. She loved books and had a passion for painting and sharing her artwork. Lorraine enjoyed keeping a beautiful and welcoming home always. Lorraine was a loving wife. She was a devoted mother, dedicating her time and love to her children, family and friends. Lorraine was generous and courageous woman. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Arthur St. Onge III. She is survived by three sons, Mark of Ellsworth, Theodore of Charleston SC, and Peter and his wife Lori of Gorham; two daughters Michele and her husband James Lamson of Windham, and Carolyn of Barrington, NH. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church , 299 Main St., Gorham, on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11:00 AM. with a reception to follow. Interment will be in the North Gorham Cemetery.
