WESTBROOK – Lorraine M. Smyth, 91, a lifelong resident of Westbrook, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of George and Bernadette (Dame) Gallant.
Lorraine was the wife of William D. Smyth, who predeceased her in 1972. She worked at S.D. Warren Company and Addressograph-Multigraph and, after retirement, was a Foster Grandparent for 12 years at Prides Corner School in Westbrook.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her stepmother Cecille Gallant and stepbrother Richard Cairns.
She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Susan; grandsons Curtis and his wife Julie; Jamie and his wife Susan; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Drew, Ryan, Anna, and Sarah.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Mercy Hospital for their kindness and support during her final days.
Honoring her wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook.
