Lorraine M. Poitras, 96, of Westbrook, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 in Portland. She was born in Westbrook on November 23, 1925, daughter of the late Camille and Louise (Prince) Gaudreau. Lorraine was born, raised, and educated in Westbrook, living there all her life. She was a parishioner of St. Hyacinth Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister for two years, and a member of the Westbrook Eagles. She loved crossword puzzles, singing and dancing, crocheting, and birds. She also loved spending time at the family camp, car rides with her son Dick Poitras, and spending holidays with her sister Bobbie and family. She was very happy to have had a visit from her children, sister Angie, and her nieces and nephews before she passed. Lorraine leaves behind her son Richard "Dick" Poitras of Westbrook, daughter Rachel Huard and husband Kenneth of Waterboro, grandchildren Kyle and Dillan Huard and Jason Pritchard, and sisters Angela Cross and Roberta Arsenault, both of Westbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward P. Poitras in 2000, as well as her son Larry Poitras, daughter in law Debra Pritchard Poitras, brothers Fernand and Joe Gaudreau, and sister Edna Gaudreau. The family would like to express a special thank you to Lorraine's "angels"- her nurses that took care of her at Maine Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 5-7PM, at Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook, ME. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 26, at 10AM at St. Hyacinth Church in Westbrook. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery.
