Lorraine Therese Begin, 87. Portland – Lorraine T. Begin, 87, of Birchwoods at Canco, passed away peacefully on Feb. 22, 2015, with her loving husband at her side after suffering with Alzheimer's. Lorraine was born in Westbrook, on August 9, 1927, the daughter of Bruno and Adeloza Lizotte. She attended Westbrook schools and lived in Westbrook, until they moved to Birchwoods. She was a communicant of St. Hyacinth's church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her granddaughter, Prudence. She enjoyed going on long rides with Don and spending time with family by the pool in her back yard when living in Westbrook. You would always find Lorraine with a smile on her face and always willing to help. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Conrad. Survivors include: her husband, Donald E. Begin, a daughter, Diane Spofford, of Old Orchard, a sister, Lucille Balzarini and her husband Charlie of Gorham, a brother, Ronald D. Lizotte of Scarborough, and her granddaughter, Prudence Spofford of Biddeford. There will be no visiting hours and a family memorial service will be held in the spring. Don and the family would like to thank the staff at Birchwoods, and the VNA Home Health Hospice for the special and loving care they gave Lorraine.
