STANDISH – Lorene Margaret McGlauflin, 87, died on July 9, 2017. She was born in Boothbay Harbor, on August 7, 1929, the only child of Lester and Vernita (Winslow) Pinkham. Lorene married James H. McGlauflin on July 4, 1951, and together they raised their two children. Lorene had many talents. She was a crafter, card maker, and played the trumpet and the piano. Lorene traveled the country extensively, enjoyed bowling, and gardening. She was also a cat lover, and bird caretaker, feeding the birds near her home. Lorene is survived by her children, James Michael McGlauflin and Krista Freeman and husband Richard; grandchildren, James Griswold, Jenny Fields and husband Matthew of Leominster, and Ben Freeman of Saco; and great grandchildren, Reagon, Rory, and Riley Fields, Madelyn Freeman and Zachary Freeman. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband James in 2003. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Burial will be at 1pm at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta that same day. Memorial donations in Lorene's honor may be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, PO Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
