GORHAM – Lloyd S. Bryant, 82, died June 27, 2017 at the Gorham House, after an extended illness. He was born on December 3, 1934 in Lewiston to his late parents, Harold Windfield Bryant and Kathleen (Strout) Bryant. Lloyd grew up in Mechanic Falls, Maine where he graduated in the class of 1953. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Marines and attained the rank of Sargent until he was honorably discharged 1956. In 1958, Lloyd married Mary (Greenleaf) Bryant of Norway, Maine and they remained happily married until her death in 2000. He earned his Master's Degree in Education and Counseling with help of the G.I. Bill, and worked in education his entire career, most notably as the Director of Guidance at Falmouth High School until his retirement in 1991. Lloyd also taught Driver's Education each summer for the town of Falmouth and was an active member of the Falmouth Lions Club for many years. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his loving step-mother Elsie (Knight) Bryant. He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Douglas and her husband Jeff Douglas of Gorham; his daughter Bethany and partner Walter Cheek of Maryland; his 6 grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Benjamin Douglas, Kayla and Kyle Nielsen and Remy Cheek; his one great-grandchild Alexandra Douglas; two brothers Jay Bryant and his wife Penny and Richard Bryant and his wife Nancy. The family would like to thank the incredible staff at the Gorham House and Beacon Hospice for the extraordinary care and compassion Lloyd received while he was there. A private burial service will be held on July 23, 2017 and later that day, all friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of his life at Parker's Restaurant, 1349 Washington Ave, Portland, ME from 4:30-7:30pm.
