Gorham, ME - Linwood M. Varney, Jr., 67 went to his heavenly home on May 18, 2024. He was born Jan. 25, 1957 in Portland, graduated from Westbrook High School, attended WRVC and was Navy veteran. He was a former CNC operator at Irwin Tools, a metal fabricator at Sigco, a member of the N.S. Grange #495 and attended Port City at Stroudwater Baptist Church in Portland. Linwood raced at Beech Ridge Speedway. He built his own motor. He enjoyed cycling, did the Dempsey Challenge, Trec Across Maine, Loon Echo Trik, and the Kancamagus Ride. He bought a boat three years ago because he loved fishing. He started collecting hot wheels cars. Predeceased by his parents Linwood, Sr. and Anne (Merry) and stepson Raymond, survivors include his wife Martha, stepchildren Sarah, Erica, Fred, Tim, and grandchildren TJ, Olivia and Brooke; sisters Debbie and Sharon; brother Nathan and nieces and nephews. He was a thoughtful and loving husband, step-father and grandpa. He was always there for us all. A gentle and patient man. Visitation will begin Saturday June 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home 434 River Road, Windham. Burial will be Friday June 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery 83 Stanley Rd., Springvale.
