Waterville—Linwood "Woody" Frank Gilman, 62, formerly of Portland, passed away on November 12, 2017 at Oak Grove Center in Waterville. He was born June 7, 1955, a son of Lloyd Gilman and Florence (Brown) Stanley. Woody was a friendly, outgoing man who made friends easily wherever he went. He was an exceptionally hard worker who held various jobs throughout his life including positions at Bentley's Restaurant, National Semi-Conductor, and for 20 years, The Regency Hotel in Portland. Living in Portland for most of his life, Woody enjoyed talking with people and even had a "fan club" at Oak Grove Center where he was a resident for the past two and a half years. He enjoyed collecting toys (especially Star Trek and Star Wars), watching television, especially Dr. Who, That 70's Show and The Three Stooges. He loved his cats dearly, Fred, Gracie and Sarah Jane Smith. He will be sadly missed. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence (Brown) Stanley. He is survived by his siblings, Roxanne Gilman, Danny Gilman, and Shirley Folsom and her husband Jimmy; long-time best friend, Robert Audet; father, Llyod Gilman and his wife, Isabelle; two nieces, Marie Michaud and Rose Boulieau; seven great nieces; many aunts and uncles; and several friends at The Regency Hotel. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oak Grove Center for their outstanding care for Linwood. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 1pm at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd. Windham, ME 04062.
