WINDHAM - Linda Mae True passed away on March 7th, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by family from complications of Parkinson's disease. Linda was born December 12th in Westbrook, Maine to Donald Jacobs and Freda Hamilton Jacobs. She graduated with the class of 1964 from Scarborough High School and went on to graduate from the University of Southern Maine. She worked as a service representative for New England Telephone for over 25 years. After early retirement, she worked as an ed tech with local high school departments which she thoroughly enjoyed. Linda lived in Windham married to Paul True where they raised their two daughters Heather and Courtney. Her girls were her world and she was theirs. Through the many activities they shared together Linda served as a Girl Scout Leader, a Sunday School Teacher at Windham Hill UCC, and spent many years as a backstage dresser and helper with the Maine State Ballet. In recent years she enjoyed genealogy research, geocaching, and quilting. Linda was an exceptionally kind, loving, giving, smart, witty, and humble human being. Despite being an only child, she excelled at bringing family together and creating a large group of close friends most of whom she considered sisters. She was thankful for the many years of friendship of these close friends including her two groups of Bunco girls. Linda is predeceased by her parents Donald and Freda Jacobs; Her father- and mother-in-law Frank Carleton and Genevieve True; And nephew Timothy Pierce. She is survived by her husband Paul True; Daughters Heather Huntt and husband Joel Huntt of Limington and Courtney Edwards and husband Drew Edwards of Portland; and her two wonderful granddaughters whom she dearly loved, Brynnley Edwards and Nylah Huntt. The family would like to thank the Hospice of Southern Maine for their extended care and support, especially Jay Laplante, Donna Garcia, and Kellie Helms, the doctors and staff at Mercy Hospital's Critical Care Unit, and Chaplin David Patterson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windham Historical Society. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2020 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a 4pm service at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham, ME 04062.
