Linda L.
Johnson
Aug 7, 1948 — Aug 15, 2026
Casco, ME
Casco, ME – on Saturday, August 15, 2026, Linda L. Johnson, loving sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Linda was born on August 7, 1948, in Portland, ME to her parents Lucille and Alexander Johnson. Linda also had one brother, William W. Johnson Sr., who had also passed and gone home to be with his Lord and Savior. At a young age, when her mother passed away, Linda and her brother Bill moved to Long Island, ME and spent part of their childhood living on this beautiful island in Casco Bay, with their aunt Muriel Pisack. They attended the Long Island School and went to church and Sunday school at the Evergreen Methodist Church where they learned about God’s love for them. They made many friends, who also became like family to them. Linda and her brother truly loved the beauty of the ocean, the sandy white beaches of Long Island and the quietness of Island living.
Linda graduated from Portland High School in 1967 and then worked at Fairchild’s National Semiconductor for over 25 years. After her job at Fairchild’s, Linda worked as a cashier in a few convenience stores in the local area before retiring in 2020.
Linda will be deeply missed but her memory will live on thru our family and her friends. Linda leaves behind her niece Lucy and her husband Pastor Will Kindred, her nephew Bill Johnson Jr. and his wife Crystal, great nieces and great nephews and their spouses, Taylor Grant and her husband Jared, Liam Kindred, Alec Kindred and his wife Bri, Nicole Winkeljohn and her husband Cory, Nick Kindred and all of their children.
Approximately 8 years ago, Linda was diagnosed with cancer of the face and mouth. She emotionally went to her brother Bill, to tell him about her cancer diagnosis. Her brother Bill loving encouraged Linda and told her that he would be there through her cancer journey. Before the surgery, her brother Bill took her to see his son-in-law Pastor Will Kindred, who shared the salvation message with Linda, and she accepted Jesus as her Savior.
Then her brother not only took her to the hospital and went to every doctor’s appointment with his sister Linda and after many long hours of surgery, recovery and hospital stay, Linda came home to live with her brother Bill and his wife for a few months of stomach feeding tubes and doctor appointments. As Linda went through her recovery the loving bond between Linda and her brother Bill truly grew and became stronger each day.
We rejoice today in the knowledge that Linda and her brother Bill are reunited in Heaven and are sharing in the Glory of their Salvation with Jesus their Lord and Savior.
A family graveside service will be arranged at a later date.
