Linda L. Barr-Gray—Linda was born amid a snowstorm on January 27, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to Ida and Charles Barr. She passed away on June 18, 2016 after waging a brave battle against an aggressive cancer. Linda grew up in Simsbury, CT, and Gorham, ME and graduated from Gorham High School in 1972. She recently retired after 34 years from the Maine Turnpike Authority. It was here that she had a positive impact on her fellow workers and was well thought of. Linda was happiest when nurturing and helping others. She was a loyal, generous friend as well as an avid supporter of Fiddle-icious, a local community orchestra. She was devoted to animals, fostering many cats from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and lovingly caring for many of her friends pets. Linda was predeceased by her mother. Survivors include her father and 3 siblings and their families. There will be a Celebration of Linda's Life on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cressey Road United Methodist Church in Gorham. It is her request that in lieu of flowers, donation of time or money be made in Linda's memory to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, PO Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098 or to Fiddle-icious Community Orchestra c/o Falmouth Congregational Church, 267 Falmouth Road, Falmouth, ME 04105 or the organization or charity of your choice.
