Obituary

Larry Joseph Pelletier, 67, of Bridgton Road, Westbrook, passed peacefully Monday, July 20, 2015 at his home. Larry was born the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Perry Pelletier.  He was predeceased by a brother Richard Pelletier.  Larry graduated Gorham High School, before serving in the military from 1967 to 1972, at which time he was awarded the Bronze Star.  He later went on to graduate with High Honors from the University of Southern Maine, with a BA in Mathematics. Larry worked hard throughout his life, naturally gravitating toward leadership roles.  He began his management career with FS Plummer, then Office Max, and most recently retired from the Portland Jetport as the Ground Transportation Supervisor. Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed his family and was always happy to spend time with them; providing a needed shoulder, advice, and unconditional love. Larry enjoyed reading novels, watching movies, and playing games, sometimes all at once. He loved travelling to Las Vegas with his wife, sister-in-law and brother-in-law to play the slots. Larry found great enjoyment from the simple things, like going out for a cup of coffee with family and friends. He was also an avid online gamer, and loved showing off his achievements.  Larry is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sally (Malpass) Pelletier; daughters Kristina Pelletier of South Dakota, Megan Pelletier of Biddeford; and Susan Patterson and partner David Griffin of Lisbon; son Jason Pelletier and wife Cassie of Gorham. Larry had eight grandchildren whom he cherished: Kali Gould; Julie and Kate Pelletier; Katrina and Dominic Rowe; Alexis, Lili, and Gabe Griffin. Larry was loved by his family and friends, and will be immensely missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM Friday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Interment with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland. On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
