Obituary

Kimberly Lynn Ludden, despite her strength and ability to put up a good fight, lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She leaves behind her devoted fiancé, Steve Archibald, and is survived by her son, Kurt Martin along with his wife, Amy, and their daughter, Layla. Duane, Glen, and Garrett, her three brothers, also are survived by her. From all of them come the combined memories and love for their fiancée, sister, mother, and grandmother. Kim grew up in Connecticut and excelled in sports and art. With her son she moved to Maine in 2003, the birth state of her parents, Gerry and Judy Ludden, residing in Unity and then Windham. Kim was a fiercely loyal person who lived from her heart in a way uncommon in most. Whether it be her immediate or extended family, her friends near or far, her work as a truck driver, or her sports and music interests, Kim's passions sprang from her uncompromising love for those things she held dear. It should be said that malice was hard to find in Kim, but she would go to war over love. This was often on display as Kim did not feel the need for sugar-coating or putting on airs. Her honesty, love, sincerity, and loyalty where hallmarks of who she was. Now her family and friends will come together to lay to rest someone who was genuine and unique: Kim Ludden. Kim will be cremated and laid to rest next to her mother and father at Kinney Cemetery in Brooks. A funeral service will be held at First Congregational Church of Brooks on August 19th at 2:00 pm. All are invited to say goodbye to Kim. After the service, the family invites everyone to share fellowship in her name at the Varney in Brooks. A private internment service will be held at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers prayerfully consider making a charitable donation to the American Lung Association. https://action.lung.org/site/Donation2?df_id=31272&mfc_pref=T&31272.donation=form1
