Kenneth Earl Brann, 90, and a longtime Windham resident died unexpectedly on January 2, 2025. Ken was born on April 6, 1934 in Portland, Maine to Miriam C. Brann (Bickford) and Winfred E. Brann. Ken grew up in a loving home along with an older brother Donald, and a younger brother, Albert. Ken liked school and graduated from Greely Institute in Cumberland in 1952 and went into the Navy soon after graduation as the Korean War was going on then. Ken served as a Navy Court Stenographer of the 3rd Naval Dist. Courts, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Until transfer to the U.S.S BENNINGTON where he was separated from active duty in 1955 and was Honorably Discharged in 1960, after serving his Country for 8 years. Ken had several jobs while raising his family, he worked for the Maine Central Railroad. Southworth Machine, and Crane Supply as well as Purchasing Agent for Snow & Neally Industrial Supplies before starting his own business in 1974, Ken's Lockshop. He sold the business 30 years later and became semi-retired. Ken loved hunting and fishing and competition shooting and was part of the team that twice took the State Championships with the Cumberland Rifle & Pistol Club. Ken was past President of that Club and the past President of the Falmouth Rod & Gun Club and past President of the Windham Lions Club. Ken has been volunteering and served as Chairman of the TRIAD groups of Gorham, Windham, and Westbrook for the past few years. Ken leaves his three children, Cathy, of Ellsworth, Maine, Mark, and his wife Stephanie Kuhlman of Cumberland, Maine, and daughter Kelly and her husband Tony Tsang, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He had countless friends and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a Veterans organization of your choice.
