Karen Louise Getchell, 57, of Sargent St., Westbrook, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford. She was born in Portland, and raised in Westbrook, the daughter of Maurice and Judith (Spiller) Getchell. Karen graduated from Westbrook High School Class of 1976. Karen worked for many years as a telephone operator. Karen enjoyed crafting, reading, and photography. She cherished the time she spent at the family camp on Highland Lake during the summer. She is survived by her parents Maurice and Judith of Westbrook; brothers Dr. Rodman Getchell and wife Janice Plante of Ithaca, NY, and Randall and wife Carmen Getchell of Milton, FL; sister Kimberly and husband Frank Logan of Limington; nieces Bailey Bedell and Megan Carolus, and nephew Jeffrey Getchell; and extensive amount of family and friends. She was a wonderful daughter, special sissy, and loving auntie. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, Main St., Westbrook.
