IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie Ann
Washby
January 10, 1953 – December 31, 2025
Julie Ann Washby, 72, of Westbrook, Maine, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by love. Born on January 10, 1953, Julie was known for her kind heart and deep devotion to her family and her profession.
Julie proudly worked as a Registered Nurse for 42 years, a career she truly loved. She spent many of those years caring for others at the Barron Center, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives before her well-earned retirement.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Donna and Robert Barrows; her grandparents, Eunice and Willis Barrows, whom she loved dearly; her grandmother Orris Percy, who taught her how to garden; her great-grandmother Edna Merrill; her beloved husband, Reginald Washby, whom she often said she would marry all over again; her favorite brother, Robert Barrows Jr. (Butchie); and her beloved grandson, Angel Theriault, who spent many happy hours helping her in the gardens she loved so much.
She is survived by her daughter Carey Thomas and son-in-law Donald Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida; her son Shane Barrows; her stepdaughter Lisa Washby of Jacksonville, Florida; her favorite sister Lynne Barrows, brother-in-law Jose Manzanarez, and nephew Nick Manzanarez of Deerfield Beach, Florida; her grandchildren Brandon Barrows and Tyler Gold of Jacksonville, Florida; and her cousins Terry Gagnon and Susan Barrows.
Julie loved horses, gardening, and swimming at the lake. She enjoyed painting, spending time with family, and found comfort in nature, especially watching birds and chipmunks. Above all, Julie loved caring for others, whether as a nurse, a grandmother, or simply someone who showed up with a listening ear.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring of 2026.
