Gorham Julie S. Sellick, 76, died Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Gorham House. Born April 4, 1941, in Portland, she was the daughter of Albert and Charlena (Emery) Sinclair. Julie grew up in South Portland and was a 1959 graduate of South Portland High School and attended Westbrook College. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed employment with Southworth Machine Co., Shaw's Supermarkets, and retired from the Human Resources department at Nichols Portland in 2003. One of Julie's passions was her church community. She was a former member and Deacon at the Woodfords Congregational Church of Portland. More recently she was an active member of the First Parish Church of Gorham. Julie also had a passion for volunteering. She was a member of, and served on the board for the Singles Network, Gorham Food Pantry, Cancer Community Center and her granddaughter's school. Julie enjoyed many hobbies. She liked going to the gym, walking her poodle Spencer, playing cards with the "girls", and traveling. Some of her favorite destinations included European river cruising, Alaska, the Colorado Rockies, the Caribbean, Canada, St. Simons Island, and Bermuda. Julie is survived by her children, Stephen E. Sellick and his husband Alan J. Kick of Falls Church, Virginia, and Rhonda L. Dolley and her husband Jason of Gorham. She is also survived by the joy of her life, granddaughter Alyssa Lee Dolley, several special cousins and friends, and her beloved Spencer. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Tuesday, September 12th, at the Blais & Hay Funeral Home 35 Church Street, Westbrook. An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service.
