Obituary

Judith I Aiken (Mimi), 80 of Windham, passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2022 in her Pompano Beach, Florida home. Judie was born on December 17th ,1941 to the late Chester Bell Jr and Wilhelmina Mains in Portland. She is also predeceased by her Aunt Martha McCatherin of Portland who often was seen parenting young Judie. In 1981 Judie met the love of her life, the late Harry G. Aiken (Pup), they were married on August 30th,1985. They built a great life together, and enjoyed taking their RV to Florida every winter, until they took to living in their condo in Pompano Beach, Florida. Harry passed away on April 14, 2015 to cancer; Judie lost her best friend and supporter for everything she needed. She has now joined him for eternity. Judie was a strong, respected, independent, and some would say "vocal" lady. She knew what she wanted and did what she wanted. The song "My Way" by her favorite singer, Elvis most certainly fit her character. Mimi and Pup had extreme ties to Windham and the surrounding community, with many of what they call their extended family, especially when they lived on Presumpscot Cove. They had an open-door policy and many great memories came from there. The family knows you all share in our sadness and will miss her very much. Judie worked at CR Tandberg Inc, aside her lifelong friend, the late Sue Tandberg. They learned how to parent together, work side by side, paint houses, cook for the family, dress their kids up for parades and enjoy life. Their friendship is eternal. Judie was a devoted mother to her cherished children; she chose them over all things in life. Daughter Lori Cobb and partner, Ellis Coe of Coral Springs, FL. Daughter Kimberly Burnham of Windham, Son Richard Mains and fiancée Lisa Vieux of Coral Springs, FL. and Son Jeffrey Mains and wife Heidi Mains of Port St Lucie, FL. Judie welcomed as her own, her stepchildren Richard and Kimberly Aiken of Hollis. Judie was blessed with many grandchildren, Brandon and Michael Tenney, Brooke Mains, Logan Ronco, Stephanie Aiken Mowatt and Katelynne Aiken Driscoll, all adored their Mimi and she was so proud and loved them unconditionally. Along with her step grandchildren; Chayanne Coe, Ellis Coe Jr, Travis Coe and Jasmine Coe whom loved their Mimi. She has three great grandchildren, each she was able to see, hold and express her love towards only a couple weeks before passing. Watching videos and pictures of them brought her great joy. She will be dearly missed by her cousin, Constance, and husband Martin Silver, of Connecticut. Connie and Judie grew up as sisters, they got into trouble together and enjoyed all that life had to offer. She is survived by her half-brother David Bell and his wife Betty. Mimi & Pup, we believe are looking down at us, hand and hand, and telling us to be strong and know that she will always be a part of our memories and remain in our hearts forever. Visiting hours will be at Dolby, Blais and Segee, River Road, Windham on August 19th from 6-8 pm. A private burial will be held Saturday, the 20th, at Arlington Cemetery at 10am, to lay her at rest beside her husband. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Miami Project to cure Paralysis, online. Paying tribute to Judith Aiken.
