Obituary

Joyce Corkum Logan April 16, 1948 -February 22, 2023 Joyce Corkum Logan was born on April 16, 1948 passed away on February 22, 2023 at the age of 74. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She attended Westbrook High School and graduated salutatorian of her class. Above everything else, Joyce cherished her family. Her children and grandchildren were the rocks of her life, and she always put their needs before her own. She loved spending time with them. As a doula she was present for the births of many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for babies was undeniable and you could see the joy she took in holding and caring for them. In fact, if there was a baby in the room she would do whatever she could to hold the baby as long as possible. As a mother she was always there for her children, with an encouraging word when times were rough, always a word of guidance when she thought it was needed, and they were always loving words from her heart. As a Grandmother she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She was proud of everyone and always made sure she had a piece of candy for them. Joyce was a kind and loving person who brought joy to the lives of those around her. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, especially at her own expense. Joyce retired from the Windham School Department in 2013 where she worked as the executive assistant to the superintendent of schools. Joyce was a Born Again Christian, and her faith in Jesus was strong. She knew that life here on earth was but a vapor(James 4:14). She is no longer suffering and has no more pain, she has been transformed (Philippians 3:21). She is now reunited with loved ones who have passed on before her. Besides her parents, Harold and Viola Corkum of Westbrook, Joyce was predeceased by a sister Nancy and brother Gordon Corkum. Survivors include her children Noelle (Scott) Fone Christian (Denise) Pulcifur, and Eric (Katrina) Pulcifur, her grandchildren Megan Potter, Dylan Pulcifur, Tyler Pennanen, Emily Fone, Luke Pulcifur, Carson Pulcifur and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Pennenan, Brady James, Conner McGovern and Sofie Pulcifur. She has one surviving brother, Harold Corkum. Joyce will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will be forever treasured by her children. There will be a private burial this summer. The family would like to thank the Gosnell House for all of the comfort and support of the whole family.
