Obituary

Joseph William Petty, 70, of Windham passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022 under the loving care of the staff at Sedgewood Commons. He was born in Portland on May 28, 1951 to his late parents Richard and Irene (Fournier) Petty. Joseph was a graduate of Portland High School class of 1969. After graduation he served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1970-1972. Some of Joseph's passions were playing pool, darts, horseshoes, singing karaoke and spending time with his family at his summer home on the lake. He also took pride in his ability to fix almost anything mechanical. Above all was his love for Harley Davidson's and being part of a family known as the Southern Maine Portland Hog Chapter, where he was a life member and road captain. In 2018 he began living as a snowbird in Lakeland FL with his loving wife Lorrie. Surviving is his wife Lorrie (Larrabee) Petty; brothers, Richard Petty, James, and his wife Carol Petty, Kevin, and his wife Monnie Petty; his first wife, Donna (Terroni) Petty; son, Sean Petty, and his companion, Meghan Zachary; daughter, Melissa, and her husband Tim Swett; step children, Jimmy and Sara Donahue, Joe Donahue; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association. Due to the impending storm the services have been rescheduled to Joseph's birthday, May 28, 2022 at Dolby Blais & Segee Windham Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham ME. Casual dress and Harley Davidson attire is welcomed.
