Gorham – Joseph "Bill" Fogg, 95, died on May 4, 2016, at the South Portland Nursing Home. He was born in Westbrook, on December 4, 1920, the son of Eleanor Mae and Milton Hall Fogg. Bill attended school at Parsonfield Seminary, Parsonfield, Maine, class of 1938. After school, Bill went to the Panama Canal where he served in the civil service during WWII. Upon returning home Bill worked delivering products for Cushman Bakery in Portland for many years before working for ITT Vulcan Electric in Kezar Falls where he eventually retired. In 1959 he married the love of his life Katherine Martin Folsom. He was a member of the Masons. Bill enjoyed spending time at his camp in Rangeley with his many hunting and fishing buddies. He loved all of his hunting companions especially his dogs. He enjoyed the company of family and friends with a friendly smile, quick wit and hospitality. Bill loved being a father and grandfather to his five children and twelve grandchildren. The grandchildren especially loved going to Grammy and Grampy's house for KFC night or chicken barbecues and listening to Grampy's jokes and Maine Sense of humor. Bill is survived by his children, John M. Folsom, Jane M. Deschene and husband Gerald, Allan J. Folsom and wife Julie, and Pollyanna Hardy and husband Timothy; grandchildren, Mark Michaud, Heidi Francoeur and husband Donald, Andrew Michaud, Elaine Chase and husband Stephen, Carl Greeley, Armand Deschene and wife Heather, Kristen Wintle and husband Dean, Katie Lombardi and husband Frank, Leon Folsom, Marissa Morrison and husband Nathan, Timothy Hardy, and Christopher Hardy; and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Katherine; daughter, Betty J. Michaud; brother Almon Fogg; and daughter-in-law Jo E. Folsom. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at South Portland Nursing Home for their wonderful care and loving spirit. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Burial will be private at a later date in the West Gorham Cemetery.
