Windham, ME – John E. Mills, 68, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2017. He was born in Portsmouth, on October 4, 1949, the son of Robert Mills, Jr. and Rita Holland. John attended Kittery schools. He enlisted in the Army when he was 17. John served his country in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He loved animals, enjoyed listening to music, and writing poetry. In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his brother Robert Mills. He is survived by his sister Joanne (Jim) Rutherford; nieces Stephanie Mills and Nichole Rutherford; and nephew Jesse Rutherford. Services private.
