Gorham—John "Gordy" Johnson, 47 of Winding Brook Way died Monday, April 11, 2016 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on August 2, 1968, a son of John and Linda Olson Johnson. He grew up in Minnesota and attended Blaine, Minnesota schools. Gordy also attended Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota as well as Rhema Bible Training Center in Oklahoma. Gordy moved to Maine in 1996 where he helped establish LifeChurch in Gorham that same year. He married Kimberly Mruz in 1990. Gordy loved motorcycles, spending time with family and camping. He also wrote music and played the piano. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and especially showing people the love of God. Survivors include his father, John and his wife Kathy Johnson, his mother Linda and her husband Jerry Larson, his wife Kim, sons, Alex, Drew and Ben, brother Chris Johnson and wife Ericka, and sister Katie Shutz and husband Chris. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Gosnell House and the Maine Center for Cancer Medicine for their kindness and care of Gordy. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 360 Canco Road, Portland, Maine.
