Obituary

WESTBROOK – John Michael Arsenault, 78, of Westbrook ME, died on April 16, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on February 26, 1939, in Long Island, New York, the son of Edward and Marion Arsenault.  He grew up in New York and later moved to Maine where he graduated from Morse High School and attended University of Maine.  John worked at American Airlines in New York and California, J.E. Gould Company, Clairol, Western Publishing and Mrs. A's Homemade Delights which he owned with his wife. He met Patricia Hubbard in Brunswick Maine and later married in 1969, they enjoyed 47 years of marriage.  John had a passion for sports, coaching and umpiring many of teams and most of all he loved watching the New York Yankees.    His greatest passion was spending time with his family and his 3 granddaughters, attending school plays, dance recitals and sporting events.  John was a very active member of St. Mary's Church in Westbrook; Eucharist Minister and involved in the Youth Ministry in 1980 and 1990. He was predeceased by his parents; Edward and Marion Arsenault. John is survived by his wife, Patricia (Hubbard) Arsenault of Westbrook; son Todd and his wife Michelle Arsenault of Westbrook, Daughter Kym and her husband Kenny Small of Gray; 3 granddaughters, Brittney and Courtney Arsenault, and Kelsey Small; siblings Patricia and her husband Terry  Tardiff of Lisbon Falls, Walter and his wife Donna Arsenault of Scarbrough and 6 nieces and nephews. A Special Thank You to all of John's care takers, and the incredible support from neighbors and his family. A period of visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook.  Funeral Service on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10AM at St. Anthony of Padua, 268 Brown Street, Westbrook Maine, burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery in Westbrook.
