WINDHAM-- Joanne M. (Pellerin) Patten, 58, who went by Jo, passed quietly at Maine Medical Center on February 2, 2018, with her loving family at her bedside. She was born on August 21, 1959, the beloved daughter of Gerard and Irene (Doyon) Pellerin. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1978. Jo was a staple at the Windham Town Office for more than 20 years. Jo was as strong as she was kind. She had one daughter, Pamela, with her high school sweetheart Robert Patten, Jr. She dedicated most of her life to raising her. Though she only had one daughter, she has been a mentor, a safe place and a role model for many children and young adults in her lifetime. Her door was always open for those in need. She later met her soulmate, Al Glazier, and they spent 28 years building a life she loved. She was the happiest spending time with her family. Her granddaughter Willow was the light of her life and she spent every moment she could with her. Her granddaughter Sydney brought much laughter into her life and they enjoyed many adventures together. She loved to spend time with her sister and best friend, Diane. She was exceptionally proud of her brothers, Tim and Steve, and their long dedication to the fire department, following in her father's footsteps. Her nieces and nephews brought her great joy, and she spent much of her time following their adventures. Jo was an avid gardener and loved to take care of her home and yard. Even as Parkinson's disease took much of her physical ability, she could still be found tending to her home and family. The Patten/Pellerin families would like to thank their brothers and sisters of Windham Fire and Rescue, Maine Medical Center Emergency Department and Special Care Units for their kind, compassionate and expert care during this time. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Pahel, step-daughter Amanda Glazier; sister Diane Fitzgerald and her husband James; brothers Steven Pellerin and wife Cindy, and Timothy Pellerin; Granddaughters, Sydney Pahel and Willow Pahel; Nieces, Shannon and Morgan Fitzgerald and Kristen Araujo; Nephews Matthew Pellerin and Robert Pellerin. She is predeceased by her parents, Gerard and Irene Pellerin; a sister Monica, and her soulmate Al Glazier. Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping us and forgiving us. Most of all for loving us. Farwell Momma, you were simply magnificent. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 8pm at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd., Windham, Maine, where a period of visitation will be held starting at 5pm until the time of service. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, Fl 33131 Or Animal Refuge League, PO Box 336, Westbrook ME 04098.
