Joann M. Wilson Heffron, of Gorham, Maine, passed away and into the arms of Jesus on February 21, 2024. She was born in Portland, ME. the daughter of Godfrey and Lucienne Mercier, and graduated from Westbrook High School. On September 22, 1962, Joanne married her high school sweetheart, Keith A. Wilson. They were married until his death on December 22, 1989. Joann worked in several secretarial positions but her favorite roles were that of homemaker and grandmother. She was involved in many aspects of her children's and grandchildren's lives. Joann was a faithful member of The Lighthouse Christian Center where she served in several leadership roles. Later in life, Joanne was able to fulfill a lifelong dream to attend Rhema Bible College where she earned a degree in Pastoral Studies. She was a strong, bold, and faithful believer in Jesus Christ and used her many gifts to serve others. She and her second husband, Edward Heffron embarked on many adventures serving in their home church and on the road evangelizing to many. She was his sidekick until his death. Joann is survived by her daughter Lori Wilson Richardson and her partner Phillip Pono of Bath, Maine, Her son, Allan S. Wilson and his wife Melissa J. Wilson of Westbrook, Maine, Grandaughters Amy Richardson and her partner Cole Southard of Windham,Maine, Nicole J. Ferreira and her husband Tiago of Mashpee, Massachusetts, Grandsons Sean A. Wilson and his girlfriend Michaela MacDonald of Gorham, Maine and Cameron K. Wilson and his wife Kiarra Wilson of Jay, Maine. She is also survived by her Brothers, Norman Mercier and his wife Carol, Donald Mercier and his wife Diane, Sisters Janice Drown and Patty Bisnette and her husband John. She is predeceased by her sister Theresa Cerino. Joann's family would like to thank the staff on Windsor Two at The Gorham House for their loving faithful care of her. They were a constant comfort to not only Joanne but to her family as well. A Celebration of Life will he held Saturday March 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Christian Center 636 Spring St., Westbrook.
