Jeannette Lemieux Richer 89, of Westbrook, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday March 10, 2013 at home with her husband Henry, son John, and a few relatives by her side. Jeannette was the oldest of eight children of Hilaire Lemieux and Yvonne (Grondin) Lemieux. She was born October 26, 1923 in Auburn Maine and at a very young age moved to Berlin N.H. and attended local schools there. In her late teens Jeannette and her sister Simonne returned to Maine to work. Jeannette was a striking beauty and lots of people would make comments like, she looks like a movie star. She was quiet, beautiful, kind, and full of love. Jeannette also said her rosary daily. She loved family gatherings, going to the Berlin Field Day, and going to the New Year's dance in Berlin, N.H every year. Jeannette also enjoyed French Night once a year in Sanford Maine. This was a real fun night, where friends and relatives would let their hair down. She loved to travel, music, and was a member of the Blue Grass Music Association of Maine. As a fan her husband Henry also joined the association and was learning to play the guitar. She enjoyed sitting with her friends and listening to the music. Henry and Jeanette met while they both worked at Portland Copper in South Portland. They got married in September of 1961. She was the love of his life and she lived for him and their son John. She was predeceased by her mother and father, her sister Pauline Lemieux, and her Brother George Lemieux. Jeannette is survived by her husband Henry Richer of Westbrook, her son John Richer of Westbrook, her sisters Simonne Landry of Windham, Rita Abelli and her husband Arthur of Manchester N.H, Marie Roy and her husband Alcide of Berlin N.H, her brothers Leo Lemieux of Portland, Paul Lemieux of Milo N.H, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Richer family would like to thank all the friends and family, Maine Medical Center, and Hospice for all the support they gave in a time of sorrow and pain.
