Janice A. Brigati passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2015.  Janice was born in Westbrook on Nov.30, 1941 to Henry and Janette (Michaud) Kenney.  Janice attended local schools graduating from Portland High School in 1960. Janice worked for several years in the 70's at Healthtex before becoming an independent contractor in 1976 with Home Interiors and Gifts, selling decorative home accessories.  She won many sales awards including national recognition in 1982 for being #6 in the U.S., as well as many trips. Janice retired after 25 years in 2001 and continued to use her creative skills when she started scrapbooking, which soon became a passion, eventually leading to teaching classes and attending as many "crops" as she could.  More recently, she had regular groups she scrapbooked with every week.  Scrapbooking provided many hours of enjoyment especially, working with pictures of her grandchildren who were the light of her life.  Besides scrapbooking she enjoyed traveling, reading Debbie Macomber books, watching TV crime dramas, playing cards and computer solitaire, and going out to lunch. Janice was predeceased by her parents and brothers Gerald, Paul, and Roy.  She is survived by her husband Joseph of Portland; daughter Cheryl of Portland, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Holly Brigati of Lancaster, NH, son and daughter-in-law Steven and Katie Brigati of Aptos, CA; her grandchildren Madison and Garrett Brigati of Lancaster, NH, and Joshua and Elizabeth Brigati of Aptos, CA; brother James Kenney of Buxton; sister Judy Dery of Cumberland; ten nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 PM Wednesday followed by a memorial service at 6 PM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
