Janet Corbett aka Deb, Debbie, Nanny Deb, The Nana passed away after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center, Thursday October 23rd. Deb was a beloved Mother and Nana who lived her life always giving and lending a helping hand. Born in South Hampton England in 1939 she moved to the US in the late 50's. After traveling and living all over the country she settled down in Maine and continued her career at Nynex in 1971. Deb truly enjoyed her work, the volunteer opportunities it brought and the lifelong friends she made prior to retiring from Verizon in 2000. She began her most treasured role as a mother when she welcomed her only daughter Denise. Every day with her family she displayed true love, fierce loyalty and devotion. It goes without saying, she was the bestest and toughest mother and then Nana that ever was. She shared everything she had with her grandchildren Andrew & Avery and made an effort everyday possible to spend time with them. She enjoyed watching their sports, picking them up from the bus stop and just plain spoiling them.  She spent her days knitting, gardening, and watching sports - really doing whatever she wanted - because she could! With a small family in the US it was the kindness and warm welcome from friends that helped our Nana make a life. Deb and her family are eternally grateful to those who welcomed her to their families and traditions. Especially Elaine King and her family who helped Nana feel a part of something big and special. Deb leaves behind her daughter Denise Corbett, son in law Harold L Tucker III as well as the true loves of her life, her grandchildren Andrew & Avery Tucker; all of Westbrook. Our family would like to thank the staff at Maine Center for Cancer Medicine and Maine Medical Center. Especially, Dr Mark Wrona for the wonderful care and guidance he gave our sweet Nana in her last weeks. A prayer service will be held at Prides Corner Church in Westbrook, Wednesday October 29th at 630 pm.
