Jan E. Anastasoff, 51, of Gorham, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2022. Jan was born in Portland on August 20, 1971, to Clifford and Dolly (May) Wescott. Jan grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School. After high school she graduated from Headhunters School of Hair Design and worked for several years as a licensed hairstylist. She then went to work for Maine Center for Cancer Medicine for several years. It wasn't until last year that she found her passion and started working at Village School as a substitute teacher. In August of 2022, Jan enrolled in the Ed Tech. Apprentice Program at SMCC working on getting a degree in Education while also working at Gorham High School with special needs kids . Jan loved to go camping, especially at Sebago Lake State Park and the Berry Compound on Bunganut lake, sitting by a fire hanging out with friends and family, crafting, and loved going to the races. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with 2 very special boys, Bentley, and Mason Rubino. They meant the world to her. She was also so proud of recently becoming a grandmother to Tucker Thurston. On April 22, 2006, Jan married her soulmate and the love of her life, Scott Anastasoff. Over the last 16 years they have built a lifetime of love and memories. Jan is survived by her husband of 16 years, Scott Anastasoff; mother, Dolly Wescott; brother, Scott Wescott, and his wife, Kristen; Stepdaughter, Melody Thurston, and husband, Richie; Grandson, Tucker Thurston; nieces, Kelly Wescott and Karlee Wescott; Nephews, Kolby Wescott, Bailey Anastasoff and Chase Anastasoff; Father-in-Law, Donald Anastasoff; Brother-in-law, Shawn Anastasoff and his girlfriend Katy Geyer. She is predeceased by her father, Clifford Wescott and a brother at birth; Mother-in-law, Cathy Anastasoff. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Dolby, Blais, Segee Funeral Home, 76 State Street, Gorham, with a Celebration of Life to follow immediately at The Old Robie School, 668 Gray Rd.
