Gorham, ME – James Edward Quinlan, Sr., 87 passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 16, 1935, in Windham, the son of William Quinlan and Ruth Durant Quinlan, and graduated from Windham High School Class of 1954. Eddie was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country from 1956 to 1958. He was proud to have served his country, and later, during retirement, he participated with Honor Flight Maine, making a memorable trip to Washington, D.C. He had worked at S. D. Warren, where he retired after 35 years, took up golf, and recorded two holes-in-one. Eddie was an avid Red Sox fan and happily celebrated four World Championships. He is survived by three of his four sons, James Edward Quinlan, Jr. of Carlsbad, California, Martin W. Quinlan of Saco and Daniel Scott Quinlan of Gorham; 4 grandchildren Amanda Rodriguez of Livermore Falls, Harrison Quinlan of Marana, Arizona, Bryce Quinlan of Tampa, Florida and Shawn Quinlan of Tampa, Florida; two great-grandchildren Madolyn Rodriguez and James Rodriguez both of Livermore Falls; along with several nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Madolyn Brackett Quinlan, his second wife, Joan Bartlett Quinlan, and his third son, David M. Quinlan, who had resided in Tampa, Florida. A visiting time will be Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral Home Windham Chapel, 434 River Road.
