Westbrook James W. Jensen, 83, died Friday June 23, 2017. He was born February 21, 1934 in Westbrook a son of Alex and Marion (Smith) Jensen. James grew up in Westbrook and attended local schools. Following school, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. After serving his country he enjoyed a career as a machinist for W.H. Nichols for over 20 years. James greatest passion was for his church community at the Lighthouse Christian Center, where he was a member of the maintenance team and served on the board for many years. He will always be remembered as caring, sincere, passionate man with a great sense of humor. In addition to his parents James was predeceased by his loving wife Sylvia (Messerve) Jensen; brothers, Alex Jensen Jr. and Martin Jensen; and sister Elsine Jensen. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Cardamone and her husband Michael of Westbrook; sisters, Anne Wells of Albuquerque, NM, Astrid Meggison and her husband Bob, of Westbrook, and Karn Noschese and her husband Frank, of Monson; grandson, Johnathan Foster, his wife Michelle, and their daughter Elizabeth Grace of New Orleans; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Friday June 30, at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 636 Spring St, Westbrook.
