Obituary

James "Fuzzy" Fruzia, 82, of Ethel Ave., Westbrook, lost his lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma on Sunday, February 02, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Portland, the son of Guy and Dorothy (McLeod) Fruzia.  After graduating from Portland High School James served in the U.S. Air Force as a Radar Technician.  He later took a position with the Portland Post Office, where he worked for many years before retiring. James was a member of the American Legion (Andrews Post #17).  He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed watching old westerns, and his cat. He is survived by his son Jason Fruzia of Waterbury, CT, a brother Robert and his wife Nancy Fruzia of Columbus, MS, and a sister Donna Fruzia of Bushnell, FL, two step children, nephews, and cousins.  His wife Alice (Loring) passed away in 2000. Visiting hours will be held from 10 AM to 12 Noon Thursday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, with a funeral service to follow at Noon.  A private interment with military honors will follow.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to the American Legion Andrews Post 17, Portland, ME, or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, or Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
