James Louis Blanchette, 62, of State St., Westbrook, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 at his home.
He was born in Portland, the son of Louis and Stella (Woronecke) Blanchette. Jim was a lifelong resident of Westbrook, and graduated from Westbrook High School.
He has worked at W.H. Nichols for 43 years. He loved his work and looked forward to seeing the people he worked with. Jim was a quiet man who kept to himself, one of his favorite pastimes was playing lottery scratch tickets. He also enjoyed antiques and collecting from his parents.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Walter and Peter Blanchette. He is survived by a brother Charles Blanchette and his wife Brenda, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday, Dec. 14, followed by a memorial service at 7 PM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
