Jacqueline "Jackie" Rose Macisso passed peacefully on March 7, 2024 at the age of 99. She was born on June 10, 1924 in Westbrook, Maine. The daughter of the late Oliver Doiron and Sophie Gallant Doiron. Her family having migrated from Quebec, Canada; Jackie was the first born in the United States. She married the love of her life, the late Albert Macisso, in 1944. They spent fifty years together, and raised five children in Portland and Westbrook. While raising her family, she also worked and made many friends at Fairchild and Data General. When Jackie and Alvie retired, they moved to the Good Samaritan Village in Kissimmee, Florida. Together they enjoyed the sunshine and kept very active in their Golden Years. Jackie enjoyed golf, cards, billiards, swimming, line dancing, reading, bingo and more. In her 80's, she was still speeding around in her golf cart all over the village. She also made time to volunteer on Election Day voting polls, delivered Meals on Wheels, helped at her local library and hospital, just to name a few. Jackie was most proud of the dozens of teddy bears she crocheted and donated for children in need through the Good Samaritan Society. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Marco Macisso, her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her sons David Macisso of Westbrook, Thomas Macisso of Louisville, Kentucky, Marc Macisso and wife Kelly of Lancaster, California, James Macisso of Westbrook and daughter Janice Macisso-Bucci and husband Ken of the Villages, Florida. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00AM on June 13, 2024 at St. Anthony of Padua (St. Hyacinths) in Westbrook. A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
