Irene A. Leighton, 98, of Scarborough passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at Pine Point Manor in Scarborough. She was born in Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Richard. She came to Westbrook at age 15 where she has lived since. Irene was a waitress at Vallee's Restaurant for many years. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband Lloyd, traveling, and went on many trips with the Westbrook Senior Citizens. Irene was predeceased by her first husband Raynald Gosselin and second husband Lloyd Leighton. She is survived by her daughter Doris and husband James Lorrain of Westbrook; grandchildren Barbara Davis and husband Rick, Elizabeth DePalma, Brian Lorrain and wife Bobbie, Susan Therian and husband Jody, and Leo Gosselin Jr. and wife Patricia; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Visiting hours will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM Sunday followed by a funeral service at 1 PM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.
