Obituary

Ida S. Dugas, 75, of Methodist Rd., Westbrook, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015 very peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Caribou, Sept 5, 1940, the daughter of Allie and Rose (Hebert) Wilcox, and was very proud of her "county" roots. Ida was a member of St. Edmund's Church for many years. She retired from Hannaford's in 2003 after 27 years of employment.  She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Red Hatters Society, and volunteered for the Food Pantry. Other interests included scrapbooking with her Tuesday morning friends, shopping, knitting, gardening, and playing Bunco. She took great pleasure in spending time with family and friends, and especially with her five grandchildren – her four queens and her king. She was predeceased by her brothers Billy, Clifford, Ray, and Freddy Wilcox, sisters Mary Hitchcock and Sharlene Mills, and a great granddaughter Ellie Rose Carrier. She will be missed by her husband of 56 years Peter; children Pamela and Randy Segler of Buxton, Joe and Julie Dugas of Windham, Karen and Kevin Grant of Windham; a sister Dorothy Latham of South Portland; a brother Gary Wilcox of Portland; her grandchildren Elizabeth (Adam) Carrier, Meghan (Shane) Pomelow, Jessica Grant, Kayla and Josh Dugas; a great grandson Logan Carrier, and a great grandson Pomelow due next month; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends The family would like to give a special thanks to Sheila, Kathi, Sarah, and Cindy for helping the family care for Ida and allowing her to stay at home. Visiting hours will be from 3 to 6 PM Saturday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday at St. Anthony's Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception in the church hall following the funeral.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
