Obituary

Horace Harding Fogg, Jr., 69 Gorham – Horace Harding Fogg, Jr., 69, died on May 9, 2016. He was born in Westbrook, on December 22, 1946, the son of Horace, Sr., and Marie G. (Beckwith) Fogg. Horace grew up in the Little Falls area of Gorham, and graduated from Gorham High School, class of 1965. In high school, he was a "Star" athlete playing baseball, pitcher and center field, and soccer, as the goalie. After high school, Horace joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country overseas. When he returned, his brother, Harvey, took him to his first job interview for a welding position, and that became his life trade. Horace worked for many steel companies over the years, but he was at Casco Bay Steel for the longest. Still employed there, he was well liked and respected by his work family. On December 13, 2014, he married the love of his life, Vicki True, after being together for over 40 years. Horace was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club in Westbrook. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer, moose and partridge, fishing, and watching the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Nascar racing. Horace was a family man, proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved supporting his family as they grew throughout the years. Horace could often be found outside in his yard, where his friends would often stop by to socialize, and have a beer or two. In addition to his father, Horace is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; children, Sonya Manchester of Buxton, Horace "Budd" Fogg, III, and wife Michelle of Standish, Joseph "JP" Fogg and wife Mandy of Brunswick, Steven Fogg and fiancée Deserae O'Reilly of Biddeford, Amanda (Fogg) Nelson and husband Jason of Windham, and Kimberly Fogg and fiancé Michael Chase of Westbrook; 19 grandchildren and with one on the way; 8 great grandchildren also with one on the way; siblings Harvey Fogg and wife Delores of Little Falls, Mary Fogg and partner Jean Gordon of Gorham, Gail LeBlanc and husband Edward of Gorham, and Jack Fogg of Little Falls; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Horace is predeceased by his mother. He loved deeply and he loved many, too numerous to mention individually. You know who you are! He was also loved by many; he will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Hillside Cemetery, Huston Rd., Gorham. There will be gathering at his home afterwards to share memories and celebrate the man we all loved Memorial donations in Horace's honor may be made to the Maine Wildlife Park, 56 Game Farm Rd., Gray, ME 04039.
