WESTBROOK- Harriet C. Woodman, 84, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 surrounded by her loving husband and four children. She was born November 21, 1933, a daughter of Hanno and Ella (Waterhouse) Chipman Sr. Harriet grew up in Westbrook and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1952. She continued her education attending the former Northeast Business College of Portland and was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She married her best friend and the love of her life, George W. Woodman Sr., on August 28, 1953. Harriet stayed home to raise her four children before returning to work for the Westbrook School Department. Harriet was a familiar face in the school's cafeteria for nearly 23 years before retiring in 1989. She was involved in numerous civic organizations including The Rebekahs, Order of the Rainbow, Order of the Eastern Star, Women's Westbrook Club, and was a member of the church 3AB group, and also volunteered at the Pride's Corner School for five years. Harriet was a true homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, knitting, sewing, making crafts and camping. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George W. "Woody" Woodman Sr.; children, Mark Woodman, George W. Woodman Jr., Linda Ledoux and her husband Robert, and Kimberly Stokes as well as daughter in law, Theresa Woodman; grandchildren, Holly Woodman, Melissa Bryant, Taylor Woodman, Kimberly Cole and her husband Jon, Brian Woodman, Casey Ledoux, Cameron Ledoux, and Allison Ledoux; great grandchildren, Brooke Bryant and Jessica Cole; granddogs Olive and Jozee Stokes; a sister, Barbara Dunn; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Hanno Chipman Sr. and mother Ella Chipman; and brothers Hanno Chipman Jr., Robert Chipman, and Paul Chipman. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation being held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd., Windham, Maine. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16 at 11am at the Westbrook Warren Congregation Church, 810 Main St., Westbrook, Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Harriet's name may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
