Westbrook Harold W. Bettney Sr., 91, died Thursday December 13, 2018. He was born August 22, 1927, in Alfred, a son of Wilfred and Ethel (Welch) Bettney. Harold grew up in Westbrook and attended local schools. Following school he severed his country in the U.S. Navy and then spent 46 dedicated years working in the receiving department of S.D. Warren. In his spare time Harold loved to cook, sing karaoke, and had a passion for dancing. He will be remembered as a great father, grandfather, great grandfather and father in – law, with a great sense of humor, easygoing personality, and great love for family. In addition to his parents Harold was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard, and Ralph. He is survived by his children, Harold W. Bettney Jr. of Westbrook, Rita L. Bettney of Minot, and Bryan K. Bettney and his wife Kelly of Minot; sisters, Thelma Anderson of Westbrook, and Gloria Libby of Limerick; grandchildren, Samantha Mason of North Carolina, Jessica McGee and her partner Shane McGee of Florida, Krystye Bettney and her fiancé Abe Barker of Norway, and Ashley Moore and her husband Ryan of Lewiston; great grandchildren, Aidyn, Daisy, Julian, and McKenzie. A graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
