Westbrook— Harleigh P. Clukey, 76, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2013. Born one of four sons to Napoleon and Florence Clukey of Madison, ME on February 2, 1937, he was predeceased by his wife, Roberta (Gray) Clukey, his parents and brothers, Gerald Clukey and Paul Vincent Clukey. His final weeks and days were spent surrounded by his loving family that include his four children, son, Harleigh Clukey Jr. and wife Lorraine, daughters, Sherryl Wilson and husband John, and Lou Ann Lancaster and husband Steve, son, Scott Clukey and fiancé Laura Preston, and 10 grandchildren. Harleigh was a hardworking and devoted husband and father. He was an Army Veteran, spending time as a paratrooper overseas. He was a self-taught jack of all trades, successfully accomplishing almost any challenge. Harleigh was always too proud to ask for assistance, and would refuse a service for hire that he could do himself. Beyond work and projects, he was a voracious reader of all genres—his favorite was history. He was also a HAM radio enthusiast. The family would like to thank the staff of Maine Veterans Home for their longer term care and dedication, as well Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, who provided support and guidance as dad progressed through his final stage of illness. A private mass will be held at St. Anthony's church on Friday, December 27, 2013 with burial to follow at Brooklawn Cemetery. On line condolences may be expressed at www.blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
