Gloria Ann Spaulding Dugan, passed away Saturday, May2, 2015 at the Barron Center in Portland. Born Jan. 12, 1938 in Proctorsville, VT, she was the daughter of Wayne and Anna (Place) Spaulding. She attended elementary schools in Proctorsville, Vermont and her family moved to Chester, Vermont. She graduated from Chester High School in 1956 and the University of Vermont in1960. She later received her degree from Boston College School of Social Work. In 1964 she returned to Vermont and worked for the Dept. of Childrens services until she moved to Maine and took a position with Catholic Charities, where she worked for over 30 years, retiring as a Director. In 1973 she married Richard F. Dugan. Gloria enjoyed spending her summers at the lake cottage on Big Sebago. She enjoyed boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming. She was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Nascar. Over the years Gloria was attached to her several dogs. She loved to travel throughout Maine, Vermont, and other parts of the country. Gloria was very grateful to her close friends that were so helpful to her during her difficult times. She was predeceased by her parents, and her stepson Paul Richard Dugan. She is survived by her husband Richard of Falmouth; her step children John Anthony Dugan and his children of Raymond, and David Frank Dugan of Portland, her sister Linda Spaulding Benson of Bloomsburg, PA; her sister-in-law Shirley Dugan Thayer Fawcett and her children of So. Portland; her nieces Jane and Brian Bercher and their children of PA, Kara and Joe Harvey and their children of PA, nephew Mark and Bonnie Benson and their children of VT.
