Portland – Gloria I. Pomerleau, 88, of Richville Rd. Standish, passed away unexpectedly Monday January 7, 2013. She was born in Hollis, the daughter of Carl and Kathleen Sherman Usher. She was raised and educated in Gorham. She was a graduate of Gorham High School and Gorham State Teachers College. Gloria was a schoolteacher, specializing in English. In her younger years, she was very athletic. She enjoyed sports, gardening, was an avid reader and firm believer in higher education and a woman of strong faith. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond, daughter Sonja and a sister Carleen. She is survived by a daughter Diane Pomerleau and Shawn Cunningham of Sanford, a son Michael Pomerleau of Idaho, grandchildren Samantha Stoddard, Natasha and Brandi Field, Christopher, Melissa, Shawn, Brian and Brandon Pomerleau, Willie York, Kimberly, Michael and Michelle Pomerleau – Garland, 9 great grandchildren and a sister Barbara Littlefield of Cumberland.
