Mtn. Home, AR - Glenn Quenton Crawford, 76, of Mtn. Home, Arkansas and formerly of Windham, Maine, passed away at the Androscoggin Hospice House, Auburn, on April 27, 2016. He and his wife recently moved from Mtn. Home to live with their daughter and son-in-law in Harrison, Maine. Glenn was born in Gamaliel, Arkansas, on Dec. 2, 1939, to Elmer Glenn Crawford and Novis (Meeks) Crawford, later of Dixon, CA. He was a member of Paso Robles (California) High School's 1957 graduating class. Glenn proudly served in the United States Navy active duty from 1957-1977 and 10 years of inactive status for a total of 30 years. Glenn was a veteran of both the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. He took advantage of every technical school and training available in the Navy. As Crew Chief, he was capable of supporting all the electronic centers on the P-3 Aircraft. On May 8, 1965, while stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Station, Glenn married Deanna Corrinne Pulkkinen at Windham Hill Church in Windham. Last year, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a joyful family gathering in Arkansas. After retiring from the Navy, Glenn and Deanna relocated to Windham where they raised their family. Glenn worked for Frost Harbor Marina in Raymond, and at Windham School Department, Windham Millwork and the Arctic Penguin Ice Company, all located in Windham. He was a Master Mason in Presumpscot Lodge #127 and a member of the Kora Shrine of Lewiston. After spending time in Florida, Glenn and his wife moved to Arkansas in 2006 where they enjoyed relationships with many friends and extended family members. In Mtn. Home, they were members of the Church of Christ. Glenn's Navy experience led to his lifelong passion for computers. He built and repaired computers for friends and family, and created his own flight simulator comparable to those used to train professional pilots. He was especially proud of having "flown in and out of every runway in Alaska." Until very recently, Glenn traveled the world from the right seat of his simulator. Glenn's survivors include his wife; his daughter, Julie E. Crawford-Murphy and her husband, Jeffrey M. Murphy and their children, Miranda W. and McKinley J. Murphy all of Harrison, ME; his son, Walter G. Crawford and fiancé Sandra Stone of Mtn. Home, AR; brothers Doyle Crawford and his wife Maryann of Sacramento, CA, Robert Larry Crawford and his wife Martha of Wilton, CA; and sister, Zona Gregory of Dixon, CA. A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held 2:00pm on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, ME. In lieu of flowers, donate to the Shrine Burn Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
