Our loving mother, Germaine M. McAtee died peacefully on June 1, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Sheila. Mom was 92. Germaine was born on February 5, 1933 in Westbrook Maine to the late Rose and Eugene Boucher. She graduated from high school in 1951 and in 1952 married the late Allen H. McAtee. That began 47 years of marriage literally moving from coast to coast of the USA following Allen's career in the U.S. Immigration Service. Mom and dad were very dedicated to their family of 5 children and their relationship to their faith in the Catholic Church. Germaine was truly a Maine girl at heart and returned to Westbrook after Allen's death in 1999. Germaine enjoyed many church outings and events, family gatherings and suppers out with friends. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was very proud of her bank teller career. Germaine loved the Lord. Every card she sent professed her love - This is the Day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24 Germaine was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Allen H. McAtee, her parents, Rose and Eugene Boucher and her 5 siblings, Phil, Raymond, Gloria, Cora and Robert. Germaine has a legacy to be proud of with her 5 children, Lynne, Sheila, Kathy, Dennis and David. She has 11 wonderful grown grandchildren and 26 beautiful great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. All knew her as Memere. Memere will be missed. Following Germaine's request, a graveside service will be held June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Hyacinth Catholic Cemetery on Stroudwater Ave, Westbrook.
