GORHAM, MAINE—Geraldine Marilyn (Ricker) Elliott, 88, native of Maine, passed away May 24, 2018. She was born in Monticello, Maine on September 22, 1929, a daughter of Myron and Stella (Tapley) Ricker. Geraldine, known to many as "Jerrie" grew up in Monticello where she attended school locally. She lived her adult life in various parts of New England, including Maine, Connecticut and Vermont. Jerrie was a hard-worker, raising three daughters, making sure they were well taken care of every step of the way. Jerrie's admirable work ethic allowed her to hold various jobs such as bookkeeping, working at Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut and even owning her own business (a wine and liquor store) in Simsbury, CT. Some of Jerrie's favorite pastimes include watching the animals on her daughter's farm in Vermont, traveling to various states in her camper, and knitting. She was an extremely talented knitter, crafting countless sweaters and blankets with intricate details for her family and friends. Jerrie will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, true strength, and an extraordinary mother who was larger than life. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Elliott of Oregon, Shannon Doughty of Connecticut, and Rhonda Elliott of Maine; grandchildren, Lee and Emily Doughty and Justin Cote; great grandchildren Kaida and Drew; and siblings, Sandra Sewell of Florida, and David Ricker of Maine. No services are being held for Jerrie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are in the care of the Gorham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 76 State St., Gorham, ME 04038.
